Captain Log: 10.2.21 – Peloton Ride 3

Not posting this for praise or pity, just to have it show up years down the road, when I’m hopefully much healthier: Ride #3 on the Peloton last night was the 30 min Pop ride. By the end of it, I finished 24th out of 60 and had gone 8.5 miles. I’m working on healing my lungs after having C a month ago and still only able to take in what I consider to be about 85% of a truly full deep breathe. I do breathing exercises daily to help get back to normal, but super deep breathes are semi-painful right now. My knees are damaged from 15 years of baseball and nearly 10 years of marching band … pair that with nearly 20 years of a lack of fitness regiment and that takes the soreness to a different level. But taking proper vitamins and building up my leg & core strength should take the pressure away from my knees. We’ll see. It feels good to be riding a bike again, probably gonna buy a real one when we get Tyler one. It feels even better to know I am putting in some sort of effort to get myself back to what I consider in shape…. but I have a long long way to go. I’ll likely never again be the guy with 6 pack abs, but I also am not looking to devote my life to fitness. Hopefully years from now I’ll look back at this post and be in a much better place in life, physically.
